What you should not miss in your lifetime
A Bucket List is a list of things, goals, and dreams you want to achieve in your life, to do before you die. Making a bucket list will get you closer to accomplishing those things that you want to do.
For some people, writing down a bucket list could be a silly thing to do or it could seem like you are wasting your time. But when you see your goals on that list, you will be more focused to reach them. It will be fun to cross them off, because it’s a great feeling to achieve something.
It is easy to get distracted by day-to-day activities, work, and friends, so having a bucket list helps keep you focused on what you truly want in life and what you would like to achieve.
Ask yourself: When is the last time you did something that you had really wanted to do for a long time?
Why should you have a bucket list?
Our bucket list represents our wishes, dreams, and desires. Writing down those dreams will turn them into goals, making them more tangible, and this will help you to work toward your dreams. It will also help you to think about what is important in your life.
Things on the list may seem unrealistic or boring to others, but these things are important to you. It’s also a great productivity tool; you will spend more time on things that are important for you, and it is a good reminder to take time for the little joys of life.
A bucket list is perfect to take note of silly things that you would love to experience, but you might ignore in your busy life. And you will have a list where you can see what you did and didn’t do so you can see what you still have to do to, making those dreams on your list happen.
I started with my bucket list years ago and I can tell you that one of the best feelings in the world is crossing things off your bucket list. I have always wanted to run with the bulls, jump from a plane, and do some other crazy things that I had never done before, as well as visit some places that I had never seen. Crossing out those things you have done is a pretty rewarding feeling.
A bucket list is a great reminder of what you have to look forward to, as well as those things that you have accomplished.
Create the Bucket List
If you still don’t have a bucket list, I recommend that you create one. It’s free and it will just take you some time to create it. You can create it, for example, in Google Docs so you can access it everywhere if you would like to add something new. Or you can use a piece of paper and put it in a drawer.
But first of all what you need to understand is, that this is your list and your list only! It’s up to you what you add to it or remove from it, and on this list, you can have all the amazing desires that you are seeking in your life.
Create your list with different items. Include items that are important for you, and places that you would like to visit, and also include things that with a small effort from you are easily accomplished. This will just bring you joy and a smile. When you are adding your dreams, don’t forget to put the scary things that could help you overcome your fears, put some adrenaline into your veins, and help you get out of your safety zone.
It’s great from time to time to review your bucket list and check if all the items on that list are still relevant. If they are not relevant anymore, just remove them.
Every time you will see something that looks like great fun and you might love and enjoy it, just add this activity or place it on your bucket list. Your list will be full of interesting things and after some time it will be a really long list. But a longer bucket list is better because life is short and you should take advantage of every second.
I know I’ll never ever complete my bucket list because I will never stop adding things to it.
