Privacy Policy - PostPackr
Last updated: July 10, 2026
PostPackr (“the extension”) is a Chrome/Edge browser extension that exports the public posts of a LinkedIn profile or company page to a file. This policy explains what the extension does and does not do with your data. It is written to be plain and complete.
The short version
PostPackr does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data. All processing happens locally in your browser, and the data you capture never leaves your machine.
1. Data we collect
None. PostPackr has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no telemetry. We do not collect any information about you, your browsing, or your usage of the extension.
2. Data the extension processes locally
When you run an export, the extension reads the public LinkedIn post content already rendered in your own logged-in browser tab (post text, engagement counts, timestamps, and related metadata) and assembles it into an export file. This processing happens entirely on your device. The resulting file (CSV, Excel, JSON, Markdown, PDF, or a ZIP of images) is created by your browser’s own download mechanism and saved wherever you choose. We never see it, receive it, or store it.
The extension deliberately does not capture comment text, commenter identities, reactor identities, connection data, direct messages, or any private information.
3. Data stored on your device
The extension uses your browser’s local storage only to remember your settings, your acknowledgement of the first-run disclaimer, and your Lifetime license status. This data stays in your browser, is never transmitted to us, and can be cleared at any time by removing the extension or clearing its storage.
4. Network requests
PostPackr makes no network requests to any server operated by us - we operate none. There are exactly two outbound requests, both user-initiated and optional:
- Lifetime license verification. When you activate a Lifetime license, the license key and product identifier are sent to Gumroad’s license-verification API (api.gumroad.com) to confirm your purchase. This is handled by Gumroad under Gumroad’s Privacy Policy. No LinkedIn data is included in this request.
- Lifetime image export. When you use the Lifetime “Images .zip” feature, the extension downloads the post images directly from LinkedIn’s own media CDN (media.licdn.com). No captured data is uploaded in this process.
No LinkedIn post data you capture is ever transmitted to us or to any third party.
5. Permissions
PostPackr requests the minimum permissions needed to function:
- activeTab / scripting - to read the LinkedIn page you’re actively viewing so it can extract visible posts.
- storage - to save your settings and license status locally (see §3).
- sidePanel - to display the extension’s interface in the browser side panel.
- Host permissions scoped only to linkedin.com (to read posts), media.licdn.com (Lifetime image export), and api.gumroad.com (Lifetime license check).
6. Third-party services
The only third party involved is Gumroad, and only if you purchase and activate Lifetime. Your payment and license are handled by Gumroad; we never receive your payment details. See Gumroad’s Privacy Policy.
7. Your responsibilities regarding exported data
Exported files may contain personal data (such as author names and public statements). When you export another person’s or company’s posts, you become the data controller for that file and are responsible for handling it lawfully, including under applicable data-protection laws such as the GDPR. Because PostPackr processes everything locally and stores nothing after export, we are not a processor of that data.
8. Children
PostPackr is not directed to children and does not knowingly process any data from children.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and post the revised version on this page.
